Obtaining Copies of Marriage Certificate
The Township Clerk's Office (Office of Vital Statistics) can provide official copies of marriage certificates of weddings which occurred in Weehawken.
In order to obtain a copy of a certificate, you will need to identify the document by the following information:
- The full name of the groom
- The name of the bride (Maiden Name)
- The date of marriage
- Place of marriage
I.D. is necessary. Acceptable Forms of Identification are as follows:
- A valid photo driver's license or photo non-driver's license, OR
- A photo ID and an alternate form of ID with address, OR
- Two alternate forms of ID with address
Alternate Forms of I.D.:
- Non-Photo driver's license
- Vehicle registration
- Insurance card
- Voter registration
- Passport
- Green card
- County ID
- School ID
- Utility bill
You can bring this information to Town Hall or send it to us by mail.If you mail the information, you must include a self addressed, stamped envelope with your request.
There is a fee of ten dollars ($10.00) for each Certified Sealed certificate copy requested. If you come to the Clerk's office in Town Hall, you may pay the fee in cash (exact change is requested) or by a US Postal Money Order made out to VITAL STATISTICS. Mailed requests must include a USPS Money Order. No other forms of payment are accepted.
